Presentation slides are available from the Thursday and Friday conference schedules. Conference (OOoCon 2004)
September 22nd - 24th 2004
Humboldt University Berlin, Germany

Following the success of last year's inaugural conference, which drew over 300 developers and users from government, education and business, the Conference 2004 is scheduled to take place from September 22-24th, 2004 at the Humboldt-Universität, Erwin Schrödinger-Zentrum Adlershof in Berlin, Germany.

The Conference promises the same eclectic mix that made last year's event such a success, bringing together the interests and expertise of government, business, and independent developers to offer a programme that powerfully shows the trend of open-source development in business today.

Delegates can exchange ideas and help advance the office productivity suite which is used by millions throughout the world. They will see a demonstration of the advanced capabilities and features of 2.0, not due out until March 2005. There will also be a showing of excerpts from the forthcoming film "Digital Tipping Point," which documents the growth and enthusiasm of the open-source movement.

The Conference offers tracks in development; XML; the Community; commercialising, integrating, and supporting; and migration methodology including case studies of in government and business.

Keynotes include those by Simon Phipps, Sun Microsystem's pundit on open source; and Christian Hardy and Christophe Cazin, who have lead the French administration's migration not only to but to other open-source technologies.

"From an independent developer's perspective," [last year's] "conference was a fantastic opportunity to coordinate future activity with developers. From a bystander's perspective, it's just plain exciting to see the momentum behind this project. It was also a lot of fun."
