FAQ for OpenOffice.org X11 on Mac OSX

  • I got an error message "OpenOffice.org cannot be started, because X11 is not installed. Please install Apple X11 first."
  • I'm asked if I want to use Mac OSX fonts too?

Yes, of course you want them in addition to the X11 fonts that are normally available for X11 applications. That is unless you know that you won't need them. Don't worry, your MacOSX fonts will be left untouched.

Apache OpenOffice is an effort undergoing incubation at The Apache Software Foundation (ASF), sponsored by the Apache Incubator. Incubation is required of all newly accepted projects until a further review indicates that the infrastructure, communications, and decision making process have stabilized in a manner consistent with other successful ASF projects. While incubation status is not necessarily a reflection of the completeness or stability of the code, it does indicate that the project has yet to be fully endorsed by the ASF.
