Important notes for OpenOffice.org builds

Please read the notes before downloading and using any OpenOffice.org build.

• Links to other download websites

  Some of the links may refer to the native language download pages. These pages are maintained by the native language community.

• Mirror server

  Many installation sets and language packs can be found also on one of the mirror servers.

• Installation instructions

  Installation instructions will help you with the first steps. Or see the Installation Guide for OpenOffice.org 3.x for detailed instructions.
  
  The Installation Guides for older OpenOffice.org versions are also available

• Limited availability of languages for specific platforms

  Not every language is available for every platform. Due to short resources within the OpenOffice.org Community and Sun Microsystem, Inc. it is not possible to cover all options.

• How to report problems?

  Users of any build are encouraged to join the OpenOffice.org project and report any bugs, issues or errors. Especially the Quality Assurance (QA) group needs help with the the review of unconfirmed issues.

• MD5 checksums

  MD5 checksums are used to verify that a locally downloaded file is exactly the same than on the server. It's a hash value that represents the integrity of data. Please read more how to use it.

• Unstable and untested builds

  Builds which are named as OOo-Dev, Developer Snapshot or Beta are not intended to be used with daily work. It represents the most recent status of OpenOffice.org development. These Dev Builds will be released normally weekly. Please read the article in Wiki what this means in detail.
  This software has not been tested and thus is not recommended for production deployment. These builds are under development and therefore unstable. For production, use our most recent stable version.

  Release Candidates are based on the final release but the final tests were not done yet. Therefore it cannot be seen as a released build and it is not recommended to deploy in a production environment. However, you are invited to use and test these builds.
