Profil

Helga Fischer, Jahrgang 1960, lebt in Reutlingen und macht seit 2000 das Internet von einem Linuxrechner aus unsicher. Sie ist der Überzeugung, dass man unter Linux genauso gut und besser arbeiten kann wie vom Standardbetriebssystem aus. Dies veranlasste sie, schon frühzeitig nach einem Office-Paket Ausschau zu halten, das unter Linux lief. StarOffice 5.0 war das Paket der Wahl - funktionierte unter Linux, war komfortabel und bezahlbar.

Ein früher Milestone von OpenOffice.org auf einer CD einer Entwicklerzeitschrift und eine Testinstallation veranlasste Helga nach weiteren Informationen zum Produkt zu suchen und blieb buchstäblich in der damals erst entstehenden Community hängen.

Seither beschäftigt sie die Frage, wie man Orientierung in einem so umfangreichen Projekt findet und anderen den Einstieg erleichtert. Diese Frage muss immer wieder neu beantwortet werden.

Incubation is required of all newly accepted projects until a further review indicates that the infrastructure, communications, and decision making process have stabilized in a manner consistent with other successful ASF projects. While incubation status is not necessarily a reflection of the completeness or stability of the code, it does indicate that the project has yet to be fully endorsed by the ASF.
