Description caolanm 2002-02-27 14:47:44 UTC
Word usually uses a tab between list number and text to force spacing, we have a
fixed distance. This usually causes layout chaos :-(.

If issue 3233 was fixed then with the additional attached patch it
would be possible for list numbering to contain a tab. And in which
case the spacing between number and text in word lists would be
importable correctly so that we'd get picture three not one.

cmc->hb: If I understand correctly you're working on the writer core
side of things to enable a way to use tabs in numbering ?

please consider issue 6464 as well when fixing this.

Only the first line should be indented, all the other lines of the paragraph
should start at left margin.
The current import sets "spacing to text" to the tab-value and this results in
the whole paragraph being indented. This currently has to be fixed manually.

Will attach sample document from issue 6464 to this issue as well.

i'll add a test document & a couple of screenshots. as i understand, issue with
spacing in points 1.1, 1.2 etc should be fixed by this issue - but what about 1.
3.1. and 1.3.2. ? there spacing is smaller in oo.org than in msword. will this
be fixed by this issue or is this a separate one ?

MRU->HBRINKM / CMC: I think this issue now is obsolete due to OD's new
implementation, right?
Comment 31 openoffice 2009-04-17 08:53:16 UTC
@mru: I'd think so.
Comment 32 caolanm 2009-08-21 15:42:25 UTC
Now in 3.1 the original example I submitted now looks like the "how it should look"
Comment 33 caolanm 2009-08-21 15:43:05 UTC
fixed <= 3.1.0
