Serbia and Montenegro locales i71789   feature-info:
The language list box entries "Serbian (Cyrillic)" [= sr-YU] "Serbian (Latin)" [= sh-YU] have been renamed to "Serbian Cyrillic (Serbia and Montenegro)" "Serbian Latin (Serbia and Montenegro)" The following entries and their locale data have been added: "Serbian Cyrillic (Montenegro)" [= sr-ME] "Serbian Cyrillic (Serbia)" [= sr-RS] "Serbian Latin (Montenegro)" [= sh-ME] "Serbian Latin (Serbia)" [= sh-RS] sr-YU and sh-YU and their locale data continue to exist and the corresponding language list box entries for "Serbia and Montenegro" are offered to be able to interchange documents with already existing releases. The 'sh' code as a workaround for Serbian Latin is still necessary as script specifiers aren't supported yet. Along with this, other occurrences of "Language (Script)" in the language list box have been adapted to read "Language Script" instead. Only if locales differ in countries parentheses are used.

Equations for Regression Curves i7998 Trendlines for data series show an approximation of the data by a mathematical formula. In addition to the actual curve, the formula that represents the trendline is also interesting. The specification describes how the graphical objects for the equation of a trendline and the accuracy of the calculation, denoted by R², are handled. bjoern.milcke@sun.com speclink chart

New property in Advanced settings dialog for Oracle i11746 Base, OpenOffice.org's database application, needs new dialogs where the user can edit the properties of an already created data source. To achieve this, three dialogs were designed. ocke.janssen@sun.com speclink dba
views in HSQLDB database can be edited i49183   feature-info:
With the integration of CWS dba24c, you will be able to edit views in embedded HSQL databases. In the context menu of views (as well as in the Edit menu of the main window, as usual), the entry "Edit" will be available, which opens the same UI as used when creating a new view, or creating or editing queries (vulgo: The Query Designer). As a consequence, when you create a new view and save it, the query designer will *not* automatically close itself after saving (which was previously done since altering the view statement was not possible anymore). With this, views now behave more like queries than before. One notable difference is that the UI information of the view design - table window layout, column widths, and the like - are not preserved. That is, after changing this UI layout, and saving and re-opening the view design, the UI layout will be lost. This is due to the fact that it cannot be stored (in opposite to the view's statement, naturally) in the underlying database.
frank.schoenheit@sun.com
dba
property browser: query designer now also available for list box content i66624   feature-info:
With the integration of CWS dba24c, you will be able to invoke the query designer not only for the "Content" property of a database form (if it's content type is "SQL command"), but also for the list content of a list box control (or grid column), if its list content type is "SQL". The SQL command which you design in the query designer will, when saving it, be set as the respective property at the list box.
frank.schoenheit@sun.com
dba
property browser: query designer also available for "native" SQL commands i77492   feature-info:
From within the property browser for a database form, you can open the query designer, to graphically design the SQL command underlying the form. With the integration of CWS dba24c, this is also possible when the "Escape processing" property of the form is set to "No", which is usually done when you enter a SQL command which is not understood by Base's parser, but by the database engine. In such a case, the designer is opened in SQL mode (as opposed to graphical mode), where you can enter the mere SQL command somewhat more conveniently than in the property browser. The "Run SQL command directly" setting in the designer's toolbar will be ON then. Adequately, changing the "Run SQL command directly" setting will be reflected in the "Escape processing" property of the form whose command is currently being designed. Also, the same functionality is available for list boxes, whose list content, in case of a list content type "SQL command (native)", can also be edited in the query designer's SQL view.

advanced setting: Form data input checks for required fields i80930   feature-info:
For databases, there exists a per-database setting which controls whether forms check for required fields when entering data. That is, when the user enters a new record, or updates an existing one, in a form, and leaves a field empty which is bound to a database column which requires input, then the form runtime would normally complain that this field needs input. This is the behaviour up to OOo 2.2, and the default in 2.3 unless some macro will be run manually. Now, there exists a setting named "Form data input checks for required fields", on the "Special Settings" tab page of the advanced database properties ("Edit"/"Database"/"Advanced Settings". Yes, we need to rework the names here.). When this is checked (the default for all existing and newly created databases), then the behaviour in forms will be as described above. If it is not checked, then forms (all forms in this DB, that is) will not check for required fields. As a consequence, the DB designer can specify server-side default values for fields, which up to now was hardly possible since there is not way Base can generically read server-side default values, thus it always assumed there're none. The setting is available in all data source types which (potentially) support write access to their data, which means it does not exist for Spreadhseet, Text/CSV, and the various read-only flavours of address books.

Base now supports also MS Access 2007 files (*.accdb) i81043 Base, OpenOffice.org's database application, needs new dialogs where the user can edit the properties of an already created data source. To achieve this, three dialogs were designed. ocke.janssen@sun.com speclink dba
Reduce complexity: Remove unnecessary display options i80528 Reduce complexity: Remove unnecessary display options There are some Options in the Applications Draw/Impress and Calc which were historically used to reduce display complexity. They were implemented at times where a screen refresh was drastically slower when showing layouted texts, complex fills or thick lines. None of this mechanisms is really useful today, but increases UI and code complexity, especially further support when migrating to more modern display mechanisms. I already discussed with all involved project owners and everyone agrees that removal of that options is the best thing to do. Armin Le Grand (AW) speclink drawing
Extensible help i20164 Extensible Help Target of the extensible help project is to support help content inside OpenOffice.org extensions. The extensions' help content is provided together with the OpenOffice.org installed help content. The help index can be extended by extensions. The implementation supports extended tool tips and accessing extension help content by pressing F1 in UNO dialogs and menus. Andreas Bregas (ab) speclink framework

The extensions' help content is provided together with the OpenOffice.org installed help content. The help index can be extended by extensions. The implementation supports extended tool tips and accessing extension help content by pressing F1 in UNO dialogs and menus. Andreas Bregas (ab) speclink framework
"Change Icon" dialog now supports persistent import and deletion of icons i73357 Toolbars in OpenOffice.org are completely renewed. They have further on a context sensitive behavior, but without the toolbar toggle known from OpenOffice.org 1.1 or earlier. New is also that each OpenOffice.org program module can have its own toolbar configuration. The OpenOffice.org 2.0 toolbars provide a lot of usability enhancements which allow an easier customization of the toolbars. carsten.driesner@sun.com speclink framework
Filter UINames changed from "OpenDocument" to "ODF" i80206 File Format Names for NewOASIS OpenDocumentXML Format and OOo Extensions OpenOffice.org (OOo) 1.1 and StarOffice (SO) 8 are using the new OASIS OpenDocument XML Format as their default file format. The Format has been developed and standardized by the Format Technical Committee (TC). Support of the OASIS Format has also been announced by Koffice.New extensions are used to be able to divide the new from the old format and to prevent loading file with new format in an earlier released OOo 1.1. The new file names are the same regardless of the product vendor. So OOo and SO files are called the same. andreas.schluens@sun.com speclink framework
Display name of extension i81326 PackageManager Graphical User Interface The PackageManager GUI is the client frontend to import, export and remove packages, i.e. extensions to an Office installation, e.g. UNO components or extensions coming with a single document, e.g. scripts. joachim.lingner@sun.com speclink framework
Release notes and publisher information during extension update i81502 Online Update for Extensions Extensions are often improved over a period of time. That is, publishers ship new versions of the same extension with added functionality and/or bug fixes. Currently users must update their extensions manually, that is, find out where to get an update, get the update, remove old extensions, install the new extension. This feature will make updating easier. Users can run the update mechanism from the Extension Manager. A dialog will show available updates and the user will be able to choose which to install. Joachim Lingner (JL) speclink framework
Enhancements of print dialog for calc i82071 OpenOffice.org Calc The Print dialog in Calc gets extended by a new possibility to define what part of the spreadsheet has to be printed. In the current version the print setting "print only selected sheets" is located in the Options dialog of the Print dialog and got defaulted for OOo 2.3. This raised several new issues around print output is empty when the corresponding table was not selected in the spreadsheet and the setting itself was overseen/unknown in the Options dialog. Frank Loehmann (FL) speclink framework

UNO awt dialogs and tab pages support background image property i83238 Background Image for UNO AWT dialogs and tabpages The UNO awt library should support to set a background image for dialogs and tab pages to create a more attractive user interface. Carsten Driesner speclink framework
Online Update Trigger by New File Format Versions i83653 Online Update Trigger by New File Format Versions The OpenOffice.org (OOo) online update functionality is essential to keep our installed software base up-to-date. Even if the online update is enabled by default, customers may ignore, oversee the update icon or have changed the online update period from weekly to monthly. Thus it is not guaranteed, that the installed OpenOffice.org is the latest version available and could led to information loose on loading ODF files written in a newer file format. Frank Loehmann (FL) speclink framework

Frank Loehmann (FL) speclink word processing
Printing of hidden text i81434 Printing of Hidden Text and Placeholders In current versions OpenOffice.org Writer never prints hidden text. Therefore a new print option is introduced to allow printing of hidden text. Oliver Specht (OS) speclink word processing
New shortcuts to apply Heading 4+5 and Text body and Default i81514 Assign Keyboard Shortcuts to Styles OpenOffice.org (OOo) allows to assign styles (i.e. paragraph styles) via keyboard. This allows to easily assign shortcuts while typing in a document without mouse or dialog interaction. This is a big improvement for professional writers and people with disabilities who need keyboard accessibility.A set of predefined shortcuts for paragraph styles is provided for Writer only. Calc, Draw and Impress are supporting this feature too but do not offer presets by default. oliver.specht@sun.com speclink word processing
