Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 16947
Problem with permissions in installing
Last modified: 2003-09-08 16:53:51 UTC
On Windows XP Home. Checksum is OK. Try to install get the message: "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." This is not possible - there is only one user on the machine and that user (obviously) has all possible permissions. When I try to delete the install directory I get the following error: "Cannot delete f0_001: Access is denied. Make sure the disk in not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use." The disk is not full (there are 5GB free); the disk is not write-protected (it's my HD) and the file is not currently in use (the installer never started and there is nothing that could be using the file running in the background). I get this message when I try to delete ANY file in the directory; or even when I try to OPEN any file in the directory (except text files - which I can open, but not delete). ---Jeff---
You are right, I've downloaded and extracted it with WinRar in one go to my tmp directory: I have no permissions on this file. Doing it again to a folder on drive d:\ and I have all rights on these files. So this is not an OOo problem.
Not an OOo but maybe a WinRAR problem?
Thanks. I'll try it with a different unzip program.

Hi Sander, I think this is not an OOo problem. But I have the same problem and can't get rid of the installation files in my tmp dir.
