Openoffice 643C is installedin my windows 98 system. To replicate bug: 1.Open a new text document in openoffice. 2.Select insert table by selecting the table icon on the left side. 3.In the dialog box, leave value for columns at 5 but clear the 2 in the rows cell and enter 3276. 4.Press OK .A table with 3276 rows and 5 columns gets inserted. 5.Place cursor at row 1,column 1 . 6.Go to menu->columns->insert.You will see the insert column dialog box. 7.Enter 50 into the dialog box. 8.Press OK 9.The system will crash.
Reassigned to MRU
Raj, thank you for using and supporting OOo. Realistically, this is a bounds check variation on issue 9803. PM->MRU: Is this an issue for MT ? User summary PROGRAM CRASHES WHILE INSERTING COLUMS VIA FORMAT COMMAND
MRU->OS: I think we should limit somehow the possibility of creating tables like this. BTW: I couldn't notice a crash. It looked like, that it is was only taking much time to create about 150.000 new cells in the first column...
There was a crash which has been fixed in the meantime. The number of rows/columns should be limited to a reasonable value but this doesn't seem to be urgent to me. Priority and target changed.
Target now "OO later".
No longer reproducible with server installation of "AOO 4.1.0-Dev – English UI / German locale - [AOO410m1(Build:9750) - Rev. 1536316 - 2013-10-30]" on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)", own separate user profile. I can insert 70 rows into a table with 8192 rows (currently maximum number in 'insert table' dialog?) several times, no crash, even to a table with WIN 98 no longer supported. So I mark this one OBSOLETE
