Description josh 2002-10-16 05:37:11 UTC
Found three, possibly related, problems with the report wizard:

1) Takes forever to launch -- as long as all of OpenOffice.org, about 40-50
seconds. Memory leak?

2) If you select a "Group By" level for the report, you get an error:
"Table_GroupLevel1 Not Defined" and OpenOffice.org crashes, apparently leaving
some garbage in memory, because any attempt to run the report wizard again
will crash x-windows thereafter.

3) The "Next" button on the "Sort By" screen does nothing ... the user cannot
proceed beyond this point.

On the up side, the form wizard is working beautifully.

Celeron 500mhz, 256mb RAM, SuSE Linux 7.3, KDE 2.2.1, "/net" install

Frank,

Sorry, the incomplete nature of the Report Autopilot is a duplicate
of issue #7768. The other two points are new, though.

BTW, I used a spreadsheet as a data source, which may be relevant.

Berend, please have a look at this. I am not sure about the
performance - 50 seconds is really horrible, is this all due to the
Java to be invoked?

Can you reproduce the crash? I had a crash on windows in the writer
document, but much later that Josh described, and it seemed not to
depend on the grouping.

Josh, can you please give some more information about the nature of
the table you are using? Table structure, table data? I suspect it may
have something to do with these.
Additionally, can you please describe 2. in more detail? When does it
crash? At the moment you select the group, or when you press next, or
when you create the document? Thanks.

BC->MSC: All problems are fixed meanwhile

Hi Josh,

yes all bugs are fixed. But the performance is still poor.
Maybe you can write a new issue for the perfomance.

Bye Marc
