Description robert.kinsella 2002-09-20 18:00:47 UTC
There is no information in the README for patches which are required for Solaris
9.
I am unsure of what, if any, patches are required but I would suggest that there
should be a statement in the README with respect to Solaris 9.

Hi Robert,
I have no idea who is doing the readme stuff. Do you know who is
writing these informations?
As you have written in issue 7776 we need to install the 'recommended
patches' on Solaris9. But we can't force the user to install a
'recommended patch' before install OOo. As we know from earlier
Solaris version this patch will grow up to a lot of MBs. By now, patch
contains the following patches:
PATCHES INCLUDED:
-----------------

113319-01 SunOS 5.9: patch /usr/lib/libnsl.so.1
112998-01 SunOS 5.9: patch /usr/sbin/syslogd
112875-01 SunOS 5.9: patch /usr/lib/netsvc/rwall/rpc.rwalld
112785-05 X11 6.6.1: Xsun patch
112970-02 SunOS 5.9: patch libresolv.so.2
113146-01 SunOS 5.9: Apache Security Patch
113068-01 SunOS 5.9: hpc3130 patch
112963-01 SunOS 5.9: linker patch
113273-01 SunOS 5.9: /usr/lib/ssh/sshd Patch
112233-01 SunOS 5.9: Kernel Patch
112951-02 SunOS 5.9: patchadd and patchrm Patch

Which is the needed one?

I have just reinstalled my Solaris 9 machine and OpenOffice.org. I
can confirm that no patches were needed in order to install and run
OpenOffice.org on Solaris 9 sparc.
Sander will update the README to state that no patches are required
for Solaris 9 sparc.

As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved duplicate
issues. Please see this posting for details. First step in IssueZilla is
unfortunately to set them to verified.
