Description robert.kinsella 2002-09-18 12:18:35 UTC
OpenOffice.org build 643 fails to start on Solaris sparc 9.

This appears to be an install problem although no error message is reported
during the install. On a dual boot machine ( solaris 8 & solaris 9) if the user
installs OpenOffice.org on Solaris 8 and then reboots the system into solaris 9
OpenOffice.org will function correctly.
However if the user installs OpenOffice.org on Solaris 9 and then attempts to
launch Openoffice.org, it will abort with a core dump.

The following Solaris 9 patches were applied.
13319-01 SunOS 5.9: patch /usr/lib/libnsl.so.1
 112998-01 SunOS 5.9: patch /usr/sbin/syslogd
 112875-01 SunOS 5.9: patch /usr/lib/netsvc/rwall/rpc.rwalld
112785-05 X11 6.6.1: Xsun patch
112970-02 SunOS 5.9: patch libresolv.so.2
113146-01 SunOS 5.9: Apache Security Patch
 113068-01 SunOS 5.9: hpc3130 patch
112963-01 SunOS 5.9: linker patch
113273-01 SunOS 5.9: /usr/lib/ssh/sshd Patch
 112233-01 SunOS 5.9: Kernel Patch

Comment 1 Olaf Felka 2002-09-18 14:02:36 UTC
Hi Martin,
just installed Ooo 643 on Solaris9 machine: starting soffice causes a
core dump. no errors are given at setup, setup.log is ok except one error:
ERR Cannot open Configuration: Connector: unknown delegatee
com.sun.star.connection.Connector.portal
Comment 2 Martin Hollmichel 2002-09-18 14:30:13 UTC
configuration is not written
Comment 3 joerg.barfurth 2002-09-18 16:00:38 UTC
configmgrrc is not found during setup.
The file should be located relative to libcfgmgr2.so.
A exported (global) symbol is used to locate the library, but the
dynamic linker resolves that to another library.
Comment 4 joerg.barfurth 2002-09-18 16:10:28 UTC
configmgr/source/misc/bootstrap.cxx rev 1.22
Comment 5 robert.kinsella 2002-09-20 18:04:20 UTC
confirmed fixed in build 643b Solaris 9 sparc with recommended patches
applied. Opened issue 7807 as there is no information in README
concerning what patches are required. Closing issue.
