Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 7776
OpenOffice.org fails to start on Solaris sparc 9
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:26:35 UTC
OpenOffice.org build 643 fails to start on Solaris sparc 9. This appears to be an install problem although no error message is reported during the install. On a dual boot machine ( solaris 8 & solaris 9) if the user installs OpenOffice.org on Solaris 8 and then reboots the system into solaris 9 OpenOffice.org will function correctly. However if the user installs OpenOffice.org on Solaris 9 and then attempts to launch Openoffice.org, it will abort with a core dump. The following Solaris 9 patches were applied. 13319-01 SunOS 5.9: patch /usr/lib/libnsl.so.1 112998-01 SunOS 5.9: patch /usr/sbin/syslogd 112875-01 SunOS 5.9: patch /usr/lib/netsvc/rwall/rpc.rwalld 112785-05 X11 6.6.1: Xsun patch 112970-02 SunOS 5.9: patch libresolv.so.2 113146-01 SunOS 5.9: Apache Security Patch 113068-01 SunOS 5.9: hpc3130 patch 112963-01 SunOS 5.9: linker patch 113273-01 SunOS 5.9: /usr/lib/ssh/sshd Patch 112233-01 SunOS 5.9: Kernel Patch pstack of core :- core 'core' of 676: /export/home/gn_tst2/OpenOffice.org643/program/soffice.bin ----------------- lwp# 1 / thread# 1 -------------------- fde1ca78 _lwp_kill (6, 0, ffbfe5e0, 0, feade240, 0) + 8 fddb5690 abort (0, ffbfe670, 0, 0, 0, 0) + 100 ff1a68f8 CallSystemHandler (b, ff1a6908, 0, 0, 0, 0) + 138 ff1a6a54 SignalHandlerFunction (b, 0, ffbfe8e0, 0, 0, 0) + f8 ff385fec __sighndlr (b, 0, ffbfe8e0, ff1a695c, 0, 0) + c ff37fdd8 call_user_handler (b, 0, ffbfe8e0, 0, 0, 0) + 234 ff37ff88 sigacthandler (b, 0, ffbfe8e0, feac3004, ff00ce58, 2) + 64 --- called from signal handler with signal 11 (SIGSEGV) --- ff084eac __1cGResMgrLGetResource6MrknFResId_pknIResource__C_ (0, ffbfed3c, 0, ff08500c, fea24a1c, 5) + 94 ff085020 __1cGResMgrVGetResourceSkipHeader6FrknFResId_pp0_pv_ (ffbfed3c, ffbfecbc, 0, 0, 0, 0) + 38 feae7414 __1cGBitmap2t5B6MrknFResId__v_ (ffbfed28, ffbfed3c, 6, 4c, 4566, 1) + 3c 000288d0 __1cHDesktopROpenStartupScreen6M_v_ (5dcd4, fe478a38, 0, b, 333, feade500) + 3a8 0002319c __1cHDesktopEMain6M_v_ (484d5, b, 333, ffbfefbc, 150d8, fef4a20c) + 290 feade2b0 __1cGSVMain6F_C_ (2e554, fffe19c8, fef34f28, fef4e400, 13acc, fffea348) + 4c 0003b53c main (a, ffbff0ec, ffbff118, 5dc00, 0, 0) + 4 0001e678 _start (0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0) + 108 ----------------- lwp# 2 / thread# 2 -------------------- ff385dd8 __lwp_park (5fb48, ff398b48, 0, 0, fe490200, ff398000) + 14 ff38365c cond_wait_common (0, 5fb58, fccfbd28, 0, 0, 3d884809) + 1d8 ff383aec _cond_timedwait (5fb48, 5fb58, fccfbe58, ff195a34, ff3723a8, 1) + 1f0 ff383b20 cond_timedwait (5fb48, 5fb58, fccfbe58, fd8f2434, ff181960, 5) + 18 ff383b60 pthread_cond_timedwait (5fb48, 5fb58, fccfbe58, 0, ff398000, fccfbe60) + c ff196e10 osl_waitCondition (5fb48, fccfbec8, 0, fd8dca40, fe490200, ff398000) + 114 fd8fdad4 __1cFstoreVOStorePageDaemon_ImplDrun6M_v_ (fe47bfe0, ff000000, 5fbc0, 0, 0, 60ecd) + 40 fd8fdd0c threadFunc (fe47bfe0, 5fbc0, fccfbfa0, fccfbf90, 0, 0) + c ff19a5dc oslWorkerWrapperFunction (5fb80, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0) + bc ff385c94 _lwp_start (0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0) ----------------- lwp# 3 / thread# 3 -------------------- fde1982c _so_accept (70588, 0, 3, ff3b10d8, ff3b10d8, fcbfbe8c) + 8 ff1613f8 __1cDvosFOPipeGaccept6Mrn0ALOStreamPipe__n0BKTPipeError__ (fe4755b4, fe4755c8, dd, ff151ed4, ff144a18, 1) + 8 0002ba24 __1cHdesktopPOfficeIPCThreadDrun6M_v_ (fe4755a0, ff000000, 60060, 5c31c, fe4755a0, 60ee5) + 50 ff15b12c __1cDvosbB_cpp_OThread_WorkerFunction6Fpv_v_ (fe4755a0, 60060, fcbfbfa0, fcbfbf90, 0, 0) + c ff19a5dc oslWorkerWrapperFunction (60020, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0) + bc ff385c94 _lwp_start (0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0) ----------------- lwp# 4 / thread# 4 -------------------- ff385dd8 __lwp_park (60120, ff398b48, 0, 0, fe490600, ff398000) + 14 ff3838a0 cond_wait (60120, 60130, 60130, 0, 0, 60fd5) + 14 ff3838dc pthread_cond_wait (60120, 60130, fc3fbfa0, fc3fbf90, 0, 0) + 8 ff19a5b8 oslWorkerWrapperFunction (600f0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0) + 98 ff385c94 _lwp_start (0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0)
Hi Martin, just installed Ooo 643 on Solaris9 machine: starting soffice causes a core dump. no errors are given at setup, setup.log is ok except one error: ERR Cannot open Configuration: Connector: unknown delegatee com.sun.star.connection.Connector.portal
configuration is not written
configmgrrc is not found during setup. The file should be located relative to libcfgmgr2.so. A exported (global) symbol is used to locate the library, but the dynamic linker resolves that to another library.
configmgr/source/misc/bootstrap.cxx rev 1.22
confirmed fixed in build 643b Solaris 9 sparc with recommended patches applied. Opened issue 7807 as there is no information in README concerning what patches are required. Closing issue.
