Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 7059
Insert envelope ignores addressee paragraph style
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:43:39 UTC
Insert - Envelope Envelope tab Ensure "Sender" check box is clear (NOT checked) New Doc. The newly created envelope document will contain an addressee box with a solid line border on all four sides. Changes to the addressee paragraph style are not reflected in the addressee box created in this manner. If the "Sender" check box IS checked, then the addressee box created DOES rflect the addressee style correctly.
Alastair, thanks for taking the time to post this issue. Please clarify the problem you are experiencing. I can remove the frame border by selecting the frame and then clicking on Frame->Border and making the appropiate changes. If I select the text inside the frame, I can change it to an arbitary paragraph style. Thank you for using and supporting OOo.
Thanks very much for responding. The paragraph and border attributes of the "addressee" style are, in general, correctly reflected in the addressee box that is created as part of a new envelope. For example, if I prefer not to have a border around the addressee, then I can make this change in the addressee style, and from then on new envelopes won't have a border. However, there appears to be a bug whereby if the "sender" check box is NOT checked when you create a new envelope, the addressee box uses a hard-coded set of attributes, and ignores the current settings for the "addressee" style. If I uncheck "sender" then the newly created envelope always has a border round it, even if I changed the addressee style to remove the border. You are correct that I can then remove the border, change the style, etc. manually. But I shouldn't have to. The create new envelope function should honour the addressee style's attributes. The key point is that it *does* honour these attributes if the "sender" box is checked. It's only when "sender" is unchecked that the problem arises. I hope this clarifies things! ;) Alastair
Alastair, using OOo 643 I don't have a problem with the Addressee style changes. Summary: When creating an envelope without a sender, the addressee field is surrounded by an extra frame with a border. This frame with border does not appear if the sender field is present in the envelope. Duplicated on Win NT 4.0 SP6a, OOo 643.
Created attachment 3252 [details] Envelope with just the addressee. Notice the extra frame around the addressee field.
Created attachment 3253 [details] Envelope with both the sender and addressee field
I know the attached files do not open up correctly. Please see issue 3824
Reproducible with the first description.
The bug has nothing to do with the paragraph style. The frame border does not depend on the paragraph style. OS and platform changed. Fixed in sw\source\ui\app\appenv.cxx in cws os6
Thanks to everyone for looking at/fixing this problem. Does anyone know which release version will contain the fix? Thanks Alastair
OS->Alastair: The bug will be in OOo 1.02 beta.
Fixed.
Verified with 644m6_8563 (cws:os6).
