Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 69006
Optimal Zoom cumbersome for endnotes
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:38:26 UTC
May be related to issue 58417 Clicking on endnote from the main document messes up the "centering" for the Optimal zoom IF the endnote & document have different margins. Try the attached document to see what I mean - annoying, isn't it? from body of document: "This is the body of the document. The left margin is 1.5†and all others are 1.0â€. The View->Zoom is set for Optimal. Now, click on the endnote at the end of the sentence and ask yourself if the Zoom is still “Optimal†and if not, why not?" from endnote: "This endnote requires horizontal scrolling because the View->Zoom->Optimal has lost its meaning. For some of us who have 10-15 line endnotes and about a dozen of them, it would VERY NICE if the “Optimal†zoom was re-set when the margins changed. Wait, before you go, click on the endnote “i†to go back to where it was inserted. Note that the screen is not centered – requiring a second horizontal scroll. Why? Of course, if you turned off the horizontal scrollbar, you need to play with View->Zoom->Optimal all the time!"
Created attachment 38808 [details] test example - click on endnote then click to go back
Reassigned to SBA.
Small typo in "Assignment"... shouöd have gone to "SBA" not "SVA". Sorry for inconvenience!
SBA: This effect affects pages with different orientation as well. And THAT is a worse case than endnotes, because endnotes "normally" appear once in a document (at the end). OK, OK, or at the end of a chapter wich COULD be every second page of a doc, YES. So the endnote thingie is only part of the problem described in issue 55872. Some nitpick... :-) Note that a "jumping view" or something that adapts while scrolling was never specified. So this is an enhancement and not a defect because the desired behavior must be discussed first. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 55872 ***
SBA: I have set a dependency of issue 58417 with issue 55872. Closing this one.
