Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 6643
Saving as WORD document looses checkboxes
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:43:23 UTC
Saving a writer file that contains checkboxes (see attachement) as WORD document creates a WORD document that does not contain these checkboxes. Originally the document was a WORD document (including the checkboxes) that was loaded an modified in OOo. => it is not possible to do "round-trip-editing" of such WORD documents in OOo and saving them as WORD file again.
Created attachment 2389 [details] Demo file (OOo) with checkboxes. Save it as WORD...
I replicated this issue on my Windows 2k machine. I created a document in Word 2002 with two embedded checkboxes. I then saved the document and closed Word. I opened the document in Writer, and the checkboxes appeared. I selected Save As from Writer's File menu, and saved the document to the same name, with the format set to Word 97/2000/XP. I closed Writer and reopened the document in Word. The checkboxes were no longer there.
