Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 41993
graphic at top of page does not display correctly
Last modified: 2005-02-04 12:06:25 UTC
Compare the rendering of "Identix FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE" at the top of the document within the blue srtip running across the top of the page (in Word) versus how it is shown in OOo 1.1.2, as a blue strip with no embedded graphic (the "Identix FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE" is below the blue strip at the top). I am using MS Word 2002 to see what I suspect is how it should appear.

Confirmed in OOo 1.1.4 under Windows 2000: the image appears too low, obscures part of the text. Issue *doesn't* exist in OOo 1.9.74 under Linux. Many formatting issues such as this one have been fixed in the upcoming OpenOffice 2.0 ( of which 1.9.74 is a developer build ). If you *need* to have the document render correctly, you could try the latest developer build of OpenOffice ... but we warned that it's not completely stable yet. As a side note, I tried to open the document in Word XP ( 2002 ) under Windows 2000, and it locked Word, each time I tried to open it :)
Duplicate to issue 11493. Frames/graphics (which are anchoredto paragraph) are not able to have negative vertical position. Has been enhanced for OO 2.0. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 11493 ***
