This is pretty odd...
Note btw, that this is on a Redhat box, version 7.2, and i've heard of redhat
boxes having trouble with java, at least as far as the JVM for mozilla goes...
I don't have a windows box to test it on...
And it's just a default setup, out of the box, with the updates from redhat.com
built in. I also have installed ximian desktop and the JDK and JRE v1.4 (which
were installed using RPMs, yea i know, you don't need both =P), but that's
pretty much it. No other modifications.

Anyway, I ran setup under root, and of course, the installation screen comes up
(well actually there were two...). This is the freaky part. I see one big window
that takes up the whole screen, and it's the usual light grey I'd normally
associate with a java applet. Behind it is a smaller window, about 900x900 in
size, and it has the openoffice logo, with the blueish background. But still no
text, and still no instructions. I hit enter a few times to see what happens and
I can see the titlebar at the top of the window change from "OpenOffice.org 641
Installation" to "Important Information" and then to "Software License
Agreement." But of course, I can't see the license agreement, I just see a grey
window. And yea, you have to have the grey window active, so taht it's receiving
the "enter" events, in order for this to happen. So then I hit escape, and the
lil "do you want to quit this installation" dialog comes up, and there is no
actual text ON the dialog itself, and neither are the buttons labeled (but hey,
at least i can see the outlines of the buttons), so I click the left one because
it usually means "OK" and the program terminates on it's own, as if I were just
quitting.
Eh.... am I the only one getting this atypical error?
Well hey, I have to admit, at least it didn't crash my computer, given that it
was running with root privileges =[)

If I have time in my schedule, I'll attempt to build it over the weekend...

Maybe http://www.openoffice.org/FAQs/fontguide.html could help.
