Description Unknown 2002-02-27 19:11:59 UTC
running ./setup results in an all grey window on top of
a installer window (the top graphic and side color bar are present
with no content) and nothing happens.

this is a redhat 7.2 (not upgraded) system behind a firewall.
Comment 1 Olaf Felka 2002-03-05 10:12:18 UTC
I can't reproduce: I've had no problem to install on RH 7.2, also no
upgrades.
Please provide a little more information of your hardware configuration
(it looks like a problem with the graphik device).

Graphical device?
I'm using NVIDIA GeForce2 MX, but i'm using the binary drivers (is
anyone else?). I doubt that this would have any effect on it though.

I rather doubt it'd be a graphical issue. Everything else draws itself
perfectly, everything from quake3 to the java applets for my CS projects.

binary compatibility perhaps?

I'll try building from source tmrw. I'll get back to you on this.

I also have the exact same symptoms. RH 7.2 (some patches)
Video: 3D Rage Pro AGP 1x/2x (ATI Mach64)
Resolution: 1280x1024
glibc: 2.2.4
Comment 5 Unknown 2002-04-05 06:06:03 UTC
SOLVED. I resolved my problem by changing my resolution down
to 1024x768 and rebooting. I"m not sure whether it was the
resolution or the reboot. Try only one and report back if
you find success.
Comment 6 Unknown 2002-04-08 13:54:19 UTC
Inspired by the last comment I retrited the install (my machine has
been rebooted since the last install try, but has the same screen
resolution of 1280x1024).

This time it worked. BTW I used a local install as a normal user, the
last time I might have tried a -net install as root
