Trying to select a font by using the drop down font list causes OO to issue a 
"Segmentation fault" message and an immediate exit without saving any, now 
lost, data. Typing the font name into the drop down's text entry area and / or 
letting OO auto complete the font name works fine.

As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved duplicate
