Somehow when openoffice saves a spreadsheet as .xls it does something funny with
the layout.  If that same document is opened by Microsoft Excel, the spreadsheet
contains a huge amount of blank pages.

The smallest I have seen out of a one page spreadsheet file in Openoffice, is an
88 pager when opened with Excel.  This is not a big emergency, but would be nice
to be fixed to improve compatibility with others I share files with at work.  It
is an annoyance to them to have to delete all the black pages before printing them.

Hi,

I can't reproduce this problem. Please attache an example document 
(before saving to xls)
