Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 24755
input field crashes Writer
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:43:36 UTC
A crash occurs after inserting an Input Field. To reproduce: - create a new document - insert an input field (insert -> fields -> other -> functions -> input field) - the Fields dialogue appears - enter a reference (example: Address) - hit the Insert-button - the Input Field dialogue appears, but at my system _behind_ the Fields dialogue - click on Close on the Fields dialogue - click on Ok on the Input Field dialogue - a SEGV occurs and the crash handler appears. This happens on our Slackware 9.1 system with upgraded X and DRI built from source. On our Redhat and Fedora systems the Input Field dialogue appears _in front_ of the Fields dialogue, so this does not invite users to first click away the Fields dialogue and then the Input Field dialogue which triggers the bug. Cheers, Ronald
HI->ES: Could not reproduce with OOo2.0
*** Issue 22739 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. ***
crash is reproducible with OOo 1.1.0 (german), but only when closing the dialogs in the order specified (e.g 1) close the generic field-dialog (the big one) first and 2) then the input-field (small) one -> crash When closing the small one first and then the big one, no crash occurs.

I just read that HI could not reproduce the bug in OOo2.0, so I tried that. OOo2.0 prevents the generic Fields dialogue from being closed before the small Input Field dialogue is closed first, so it seems like it is fixed there.
ES->OS: it's a crash. And it's easy to reproduce. Though it's fixed in a 680 I'd like to have it for an OOo 1.1.2.
