Description apetrelli 2003-10-02 14:02:52 UTC
When saving in Microsoft Word (97/2000/XP) format, if there are pictures with
captions, the caption is placed under the picture itself, as I can see it
using directly Microsoft Word (Office XP), so that it is actually invisible,
but it is present, as I can see moving the picture around.

Please Attach the documents which make this problem, so we can test
it/faster to confirm.
(Without the documents, we cannot confirm the problem easily/need more
time)
Don't forget to cut other part of the documents, so the file size is
small, but we still able to see the problem.

MRU->CMC: I think, we should export graphics inside frames "inline",
seems the only way to keep them inside the frame for WW format.
What is your opinion about this?
Comment 7 caolanm 2003-10-10 12:44:18 UTC
That's the conclusion I've also come to, but we cannot handle escher
drawings inline yet. Thats a new feature in word I haven't figured
out. So this depends on issue 3958.
Comment 8 caolanm 2003-10-30 10:52:12 UTC
Implemented in portlaoisefilterteam16 for 2.0 now that issue 3958 is
also implemented
Comment 9 caolanm 2003-11-07 16:15:14 UTC
reopen to reassign
Comment 10 caolanm 2003-11-07 16:17:28 UTC
cmc->mru: Good in Fri-Nov-07-16-00 portlaoisefilterteam16 installset,
except that word and writer handle the above value spacing for the
first line of text in a frame (and document) differently, so part of
the caption is clipped out when viewed in word. In writer regardless
of the value its treated as a 0 when one of our compatability options
is enabled. Perhaps we should have a new feature to hardcode this on
export as 0 to word.
Comment 11 michael.ruess 2003-11-10 15:00:58 UTC
Checked fix with CWS portlaoisefilterteam16.

I don't think, that we need an export feature which treats the spacing
as 0. As I heard, there should be new defaults in Writer's
compatibility options, which makes Writer behave more like Word than
in older Writer versions.
Comment 12 michael.ruess 2003-11-10 15:01:36 UTC
Verified. Fix will be integrated in OO 2.0.
Comment 13 michael.ruess 2004-04-30 17:24:07 UTC
Checked with OO 2.0 snapshot build 680m35. Closed.
