Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 20017
TestTool
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:26:47 UTC
When installing in Windows and Linux the custom install features "TestTool" however, there is no information of what this does (in the right-side box that typically describes what the individual selections do) and why or why not you would want to install it. It would be useful if you added information on TestTool to the install.
of -> is: He's right, this module has no description. Even a change mail is missing.
"Automated GUI Testing The automated GUI testing provides a test framework with test scripts and an application (TestTool) to test almost the whole office application automatically. The TestTool scripts are written in BASIC with some additional functions especially for the office. The TestTool communicates via TCP/IP with the office application. To start the GUI testing it is recommended to download the scripts (TestTool Environment) and the TestTool application for the platform where you want to run the tests." http://qa.openoffice.org/qatesttool/
IS -> GH: MH included the TestTool into the product using Bug #106001. He told me that you will take care of this tool now.
Ingo please take care of the integration of the testtool into Setup as you know much better how to do it than me. Maybe take the text as quoted by thegoldenear. I suggest to also include the link to the website to point people easily to the right ressource.
IS -> CJ: Please specify name and description for the optional testtool module in OpenOffice.org. See the proposal from "thegoldenear".
according to the announcement on releases (http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=releases&msgNo=7503) this issue will be re-targeted to OOo Later.
Hi. I am using OO.o 1.1.2 (Italian) on a PC with XP prof as OS. The procedure, for importing data in a worksheet from an external CSV (TXT) file, stops at the 2nd window, which asks to fill the "available sections/tables". But this sub-window cannot be filled ---> so the button OK cannot be clicked!. I have preparec 2 jpg files showing the windows, but I don't know how to attach them to this comment. If they can be useful you can ask them to me by email. Mariano Italy
Please delete my previous comment, since it was referred to a different issue. Sorry for the error. Mariano
