I got a MS excell file from my coleague which contains data and a chart. Whe I
tried to open it with OOo (I do not have MSO on my machine) OOo freezed and
never opened it. I keep this file at my machine and can mail to whomever needed.
Excell opens it normally. The file is not a complex one - just a table and chart
about. When I got a "chart free" version OOO opened it without problems. The
same problem I had with versions 1.1 beta2, RC1, RC2, RC3, RC4.

Yes, I didn't recieve the last change mails of this issue at that

Calc does load this chart eventually. It takes about a minute to load
admitedely on a high spec machine (P4 2.6). and Yes the reason is the
generation of the chart which is made up of a data source range of
3600 rows * 2 columns. So, I will mark this as a duplicate of issue
16280. See also issue 19615. This issue should be addressed by the new
chart engine. see:
