When importing a Word 2000 document, document variables are converted into
normal text. Moreover, in some cases they are converted into a different text
from the value of the variable. See attached file for an example.

I can Reproduce the problem on 
OpenOffice 1.1 RC4(default Install, US), Win XP Pro Sp1. 
(And MS Office XP Sp2). 
It is real problem
