Description richlv 2003-09-02 14:35:34 UTC
slackware 9

when crating pdf from the document that has diacritic symbols they are replaced
by question marks. this happens with all 3 available pdf options. this is even
true for the same machine.

1.1rc3 on windows creates good files with all options, and those files are much
larger than on linux created ones (fonts included/not included ?)

attachment : testcase. try exporting pdf from this file. diacritic symbols
should be replaced by "?"

Font fallback was not done on a per glyph basis for PDF builtin font
(like Times in the sample document) as it should. This is fixed now;
but you will see glyphs from a different font where there is no
existing glyph in WinAnsi encoding (as the PDF builtin fonts only
support the WinAnsi charset), e.g. the Unicode 0x0101 (the dashed a)
will be taken from another font.

fixed in CWS vcl7pp1r3

Comment 8 h.ilter 2003-11-17 12:13:07 UTC
HI->HDU: Verified with cws = Last letters jumped out of text area.
Comment 9 hdu@apache.org 2003-11-18 12:37:46 UTC
The effect with the "si" ending jumping is a different problem, it
just became more visible. The effect was only observed on some
unxsols4 platforms, unxlngi5 seems ok. It pobably has other font
constellations.

HDU->HI: Please open a followup OOo1.1.1 bug and set update the status
for this one.
