Description drc 2003-08-21 00:40:27 UTC
User hostile feature - when the app crashes the window inviting me to send a
report to SUN is hidden behind the app window.

So I sat there trying everything and finally killed the application - only to
see the window about the report - which I sent off.

By then the app was no more, and I didn't get the comforting 'fatal but data
may be recoverable' message. And my long edit was gone.

OK - OK it's a development version. I know more about it than most, and I
should have saved my work. Silly me. But can we please at least have the
error report invitation on top of everything.... And would it be possible to
save my data after assembling the error report instead of after I respond to it?

The crash is covered in issue 18255. This issue is about how the crash
condition is handled.

Thanks

JA->HRO: could you force the focus to bring the crash reporter in
front of everything ?
Comment 4 hennes.rohling 2003-08-22 09:59:22 UTC
The Windows taskbar shows a new task "Error Reporter", didn't it ?
Anyway it's possible to make crash reporter window topmost. It will
then be displayed and stay in top of every other application window.
Not possible for "X11", only Windows. This is nope, so we can fix it
for OOo 1.1.1

Crash Reporter will now stay on top of all other windows.
Comment 7 hennes.rohling 2003-11-24 15:12:09 UTC
Reopenend because we did not integrate it with the recent CWS.
