Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 18389
more localize and merging without backslash before Ctrl+M
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:00:08 UTC
This issue is very similar to the issue #8094 but it must be something new. I am adding the Hungarian localization to the SuSE Linux distribution. In the past (including 1.1rc2) I had to patch only the file sw/source/ui/inc/swmn.hrc for the missing backslash before CTRL+M. Now I have to patch more than 25 files: dbaccess/source/ui/inc/toolbox.hrc dbaccess/source/ui/tabledesign/table.src dbaccess/source/ui/browser/sbabrw.src offmgr/source/offapp/intro/intro.hrc sfx2/source/dialog/cfg.src sfx2/source/view/view.src starmath/source/smres.src sc/source/ui/formdlg/parawin.src sc/source/ui/pagedlg/hfedtdlg.src sc/source/ui/src/miscdlgs.src ... I can not find important changes in the .src files. Only some localizations were updated. So, the problem must be in the localize tool. Some has been changed between 1.1rc2 and 1.1rc3 and the current state is much worse than the previous state. Is more information needed?
Ivo, could you please dispatch this bug? Dieter seems to be busy those days. Thank you.
Petr Mladek, can you attach / provide me with your GSI file and the full list of files, so we can better find out what's happend there. 25 File sounds not good ... Thxs!

I've found the same bug in merging romanian translation. The problem is very severe because it can generate a lot of problems even on merging. I don't know why but it happends that he duplicates the translations. Can someone look at this? The backslash problem is in the transex tool.
This will be evaluated during the implementation phase for usage of iso codes and removal of translations out of the code (gsi/sdf partical beside each source file, merge during build).
Ivo, could you please rethink the target? This issues is hindering many people in dev@l10n and is the cause of many questions... I'd really like to see this solved for 1.1.1 so make it easier for others to merge the translations.
For the merge-while-building/small SRC feature this issue have to be fixed, I try but due lack of time but can't assure that this is fixed till 1.1.1
I tried cws_src680_ooo20031110 yesterday and it worked without problems ;-) So could we only use transex3 from src680?
It worked without problems with a new or an already merge language ?
With both. I merged MergeBastard 36 hu hungarian MergeBastard 42 cs czech MergeBastard 43 sk slovak MergeBastard 45 da danish MergeBastard 50 sl slovenian MergeBastard 31 nl dutch MergeBastard 35 fi finnish some of them already are merged and some not (slovenian and hungarian, IMHO).
I tried it once again and really with 680 it is not needed to patch many files after running localize. But the problem is different ;-) The languages which were not already in the sources are not merged at all: + localize -m -i sl -l 50 -f /home/pavel//Files/slovenian_new_bastard.txt ERROR: Unknown language 50 But this issue is of course simple, the support for Slovenian (50) is yet to be merged from 1.1.0. So: my previous entry is misleading and transex3 from 680 is probably buggy too. Sorry.
This one is fixed on CWS mergebuild
verified
Note that there are still problems with StringList / ItemList of the type SfxStyleFamilies DLG_STYLE_DESIGNER within macros #i29002# , but I was able to solve the problem by expanding that macro.
