Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 18366
print multiple pages per sheet should be more accessible
Last modified: 2010-03-17 13:47:26 UTC
There are two parts to this bug: 1. Put the function in a drop-down menu. Currently, the "print multiple pages per sheet" function is only available by clicking on an icon in the print preview dialog. This is an accessibility issue. There should be a way to do this from the drop-down menus, as well. In addition to the fact that this is an accessibility issue, having the function only available from an icon makes the function very hard to discover. 2. Put the function in the print dialog. People will look for this functionality in the print dialog. This is intuitively where it should go.

Many people cannot find this print multiple page "tricks" easily. If we can put somewhere we can reduce the people problem when they want to print multiple pages per sheet. Where to put need to be studied more better. I think we can use the suggestion solutions: to put this option at the print dialog, instead at the print preview
Adding "accessibility" keyword

MS Word has N-UP printing directly in the Print... Dialog, so people who used to have Word miss this feature.

Toolbar icons are accessible. I agree that this is not very usable in general, but it's a pure UX issue, not especially accessibility related. mt->clu: Please make a proposal.
The current way of N-up printing will become obsolete with integrating of CWS printerpullpages for OOo3.3. Please test the way it is done there. ftp://qa-upload.services.openoffice.org/printerpullpages/ More information on http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Printerpullpages
thx regina for this hint .. i can acknowledge that (please have a look at the new behavior, because the old dialoges get redundant soon)
