Removing the inline fixed this... well, removed the error, I'm not sure
its a good fix. Actually, I should try 'extern inline', I think that
will work (for MipsPro, not gcc).

per issue 106845 sb removed the partial irix port, so this doesn't make sense in
isolation anymore
