Description Unknown 2001-10-03 17:31:44 UTC
I tried to display a .PPT file that displays fine with Powerpoint Viewer. When I
try to read with OO, I get this message:
Error loading document file//:C/WINDOWS/DESKTOP/TARZANM.PPT
Version incompatibility.
Incorrect file version.

Because this file is sexually explicit (see also bug 1474, covering a similar
situation with another file), I decided to post only the beginning of the file
(to be attached), assuming it would have enough header information to allow
fixing. I don't mind sending the complete file to an e-mail address, but I doubt
I should post it publicly on the bug list. But when I tried to read the
abbreviated file with OO, it crashed, giving a DrWatson dump (to be attached).

I apologize if it turns out I'm posting two bugs simultaneously. I am assuming
both problems are both related to reading Powerpoint files.

Hello Peter, please send us that file as attachement. Do you perhaps
have another PPT-file instead? Or can you exchange content in your
file, which crashes?

Hello Peter, you can send that file as mail.
Comment 5 Unknown 2001-10-09 13:54:34 UTC
Sent file by e-mail, as requested, to Bettina.
Comment 6 bettina.haberer 2001-10-09 15:35:34 UTC
This PPT-document was created with an older Power Point version (95),
which is not supported in Impress. Impress actually supports Power
Point version 97 and 2000, but not 95 or older. In such cases the
message "Incorrect file version" appears.
Comment 7 bettina.haberer 2001-10-09 15:37:47 UTC
So this issue is closed.
