Description khirano 2003-07-24 08:37:54 UTC
Hi,

With setting ./configure --libsn, the configuration goes all right,
using fresh checkout cws_srx645_ooo11rc3 on 20030723
with RedHat9, gcc3.3, glibc2.3.2, jdk1.4.1.
But on this build, startup_notification seems not working on Redhat9.

My understanding is that the startup_notification is a blinking icon
chasing the cursor like the function you can see on kde when clicking
any application icon on the panel. And this function is available only
on Gnome2.2 which Redhat9 and SuSE8.2 have as default desktop environment.

Thanks

Hi Michael,

this migth already be fixed in RC 5 or is possibly a duplicate of
#17854#. Anyway, since it was your patch originally, you are probably
the best to check/verify.

Thanks,
Oliver

You need to add StartupNotify=true in your .desktop files,

There was a patch someone wrote to add this I think, but I forget what
happened to it; I forget if it patched sysui/, or scp/ or both.

Ultimately, I'm not particularly interested in sinking effort into the
strange scp .desktop file mess, since it all needs to die.

If you want some working .desktop files suitable for system packaging
see the 'openoffice' module in Gnome CVS, in the 'desktop' directory -
you'll need to 'make' in desktop to translate them into all the
languages. Also these .desktop files don't fool around; they are for
"Text Editor" not "OpenOffice.Org Writer (1.1)" or somesuch.

Oliver: #17854# seems to be an oowriter bullet bug (?) :-)
