Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 16977
No suitable GUI font found in zh_CN.EUC locale (GB2312) for chinese OOo
Last modified: 2004-03-03 16:50:02 UTC
This is a follow up to issue 16338. Chinese OOo 1.1 RC2 does not find a suitable GUI font in zh_CN.EUC locale (GB2312) on Solaris. Pls. add the following fonts (which are available as scalable fonts at least in all simplified chinese locales) also to libvcl and VCL.xcu: fangsong hei song
"Target Milestone" set to OOo 1.1.1.
will do
some more additions: simp_Chinese Redhat: "AR PL SungtiL GB" trad_Chinese Redhat: "AR PL Mingti2L Big5" courtesy of John Xie
AR PL Mingti2L Big5 is already available by means of "xlfd_*.cxx" so it should already work on zh_TW redhat
I'd like to suggest the following two fonts for Linux: "gnu-unifont" for CJK "clearlyU" for CTL.
fixed in CWS vcl7pp1r1 pl->us: verifying this you will need to check on multiple platforms soffice as well as setup. pl->cp: just that they are available does not make fonts chosen for UI font ;-)
they are chosen whenenver "Interface User" is chosen ;-)
pl->cp: What an ugly hack.
pl->us: please verify in vcl7pp1r1
OK in cws ooo11rc3. What's currently missing (at least): *suitable font for Help (in zh_CN.EUC locale, Solaris) *suitable default text font for wordprocessing app (in zh_CN.EUC locale, Solaris) Will file follow-up issues for the above mentioned problems. Changing resolution to FIXED.
verified in cws ooo11rc3. Changing resolution to VERIFIED.
Missing localised MWS.
Verified in master srx645_m33-1_86.8753. Closing Fixed/Verified issue.
