Description Unknown 2003-07-15 17:06:28 UTC
Starting the installation with the command: # ./setup

I get the following error:
setup.bin: relocation error: /tmp/sv001.tmp/libvcl645li.so: undefined symbol:
FT_Activate_Size

OS Details: RedHat 7.2 with the following 'uname -a' output:
Linux rlancas1 2.4.20-18.7smp #1 SMP Thu May 29 07:49:23 EDT 2003 i686 unknown
Desktop is Ximian 1.x
glibc is 2.2.4
Java sdk's loaded are: Sun j2sdk1.4.2 and j2sdk1.3.1_08 both in /usr/java directory.

I have a laptop where I am running RedHat 9 with Ximian 2.0 desktop and the
setup starts up fine.

Do you need more information? What do I need to do next?

Hi,
On our users@openoffice.org I heard, that this results from an old
libfreetype on RedHat 7.2.
Could you update libfreetype and let us know, whether this solves the
problem.
We have to decide how we move forward then...
Greetings, Stefan

I downloaded the freetype-2.1.4 this is the same level used on RH9.
Tried it again with the /usr/local/lib in the end of the
LD_LIBRARY_PATH with the same error. (Ximina 1.x needs the 2.0.4
freetype to be there). I then linked the /usr/lib/libfreetype.so and
/usr/lib/libfreetype.so.6 to the /usr/local/lib/libfreetype.so.6.3.3
and the setup and installation completed normally. This may be an
issue since the RH Enterprise systems are based on RH 7.2 currently.
