Description alex.thurgood 2003-07-04 14:08:11 UTC
Using the classical ./setup -net command from an E-term console on Linux
Mandrake 9.0, glibc 2.2.5

During installation of the rc1 French localized binaries, the console throws up
the following message

libspa645li.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory: when opening libspa645li.so

What impact does this file have on the setup and what does it do ?

Alex.

This problem doesn't occure in the the english and french version. I
would assume that your download is broken.
Comment 2 alex.thurgood 2003-07-04 15:15:31 UTC
I don't think so.

Available md5sum on download from qa-test@fr.openoffice.org

Linux :
1c697ff1c56e7bee4738c7a789b1e7eb
OOo_1.1rc_04072003_LinuxIntel_install_fr.tar.gz

MD5SUM check on file on my machine after download :
1c697ff1c56e7bee4738c7a789b1e7eb
OOo_1.1rc_04072003_LinuxIntel_install_fr.tar.gz

Exactly the same, so no download error.

Reopening the issue, since the problem appears to lie elsewhere. Bear
in mind I did not use the supplied install script, but the setup -net
command from an E-term console.

Please have a look. The file I've found on jumbo/OOo/temp doesn't have
this problem.
Comment 4 sander_traveling 2003-07-04 16:01:44 UTC
the version on OOo/temp is the one I uploaded...

I honestly don't know what the status is as the installation sets
were withdrawn and mh said he will provide new ones. Hopefully it
won't be presentin that one...
Comment 5 sander_traveling 2003-07-11 15:25:17 UTC
svesik -> mh I assume this is fixed in the new 1.1rc localised
installation sets?
Comment 6 Martin Hollmichel 2003-07-14 13:23:14 UTC
I assume it also, reassigned to wurzel for QA.
Comment 7 alex.thurgood 2003-07-14 14:36:21 UTC
OK, well it'll have to wait until at least tomorrow, cos I've won't
have broadband access until then... ;-)

I have just tried installing OOo 1.1rc under SuSE 7.3. Previous
versions of OO have installed without problem. The md5sum of my file
is OK. I get the following :

linux_harlow:/tmp/OOo_1.1rc_LinuxIntel_install # ./install
--prefix=/usr/local
Installation starting, please be patient ...
glibc version: 2.2.4

Initializing installation program....................
/tmp/sv001.tmp/setup.bin: error while loading shared libraries:
/tmp/sv001.tmp/libvcl645li.so: undefined symbol: FT_Activate_Size

Installation Completed
linux_harlow:/tmp/OOo_1.1rc_LinuxIntel_install #

Regards,

Pete.

I have the same problem on RedHat 7.2. It looks like freetype >= 2.0.5
is needed for 1.1rc to run.

Is this dependency a linking problem of the binaries (static/dynamic)
or do we have to live with more and more dependencies in the future?
Comment 10 dankegel 2003-07-25 08:31:22 UTC
Could this be a duplicate of issue 16872, which supposedly was
fixed in the last couple days?
Comment 11 Unknown 2003-07-30 11:37:41 UTC
I have the same problem as Peteh and Simon Matter, using Red Hat 7.2
and the English version of 1.1 RC
Comment 12 philipp.lohmann 2003-07-31 10:25:43 UTC
FYI: libspa*.so contains the code for printer setup; most likely this
library is not part of the setup but the user tried to print the
license file and pressed the "properties" button (whatever it's called
in french) of the print dialogue which would access libspa645li.so to
setup the printer. There is no harm done here, the only drawback is
that license won't be printable Duplex. As long as the libspa645li.so
is available in the finally installed office (which it most likely is)
there is no serious effect at all.

The freetype problem on the other hand has nothing to do with libspa
at all. The FT_ActivateSize thingy was the matter of issue 16805.
Comment 13 Martin Hollmichel 2003-08-05 15:27:19 UTC
this error does not occur in rc3 anymore.
