Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 15082
Duplicate hot key in File menu
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:42:08 UTC
Steps: 1) Open a text document. 2) Open the File menu Observed: Both export and templates use "t" as their hotkey., Expected: No duplicates.
It's worse than that, at least on Linux, where I checked. Export PDF also uses 't' as its hotkey, and no matter how many times you hit 't', it doesn't cycle down to Templates.
Reassigned to EM
Thanks for catching this! I'm working on it now.
Since this is a triple use of T, this must be fixed. Only duplicates appear to allow for cycling through. The same menu in German has three "i" mnemonics and therefore must be changed as well. Liz ->DR: Please set the mnemonics as follows: English Export as P~DF German E~xportieren [usw] Please make sure this change is valid for Writer and Calc, etc.

I am still seeing this in OOo 1.1 RC2. If this was fixed on June 18, shouldn't the fix show up in OOo 1.1 RC2, which was released over a month later?
The remaining duplicate hotkey is not solvable. There are some common hotkeys which can't be changed because of usability and for the rest are not enough different characters. For the duplicate T as hotkey you can reach both entries by pressing the T twice. Therefor there is no loss of functionallity.
