Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 14916
speelchicking on the fly does not work in online view
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:44:28 UTC
When working in online view, the spell-check on the fly icon has no effect: that's to say, it is repainted as depressed, and the screen ripples as if it were being spellchecked, but no incorrect words are marked. the same thing happens when choosing this option from the tools menu. But as soon as I change the document back to a paginated view, the spellchecking works as it should, and the incorrect words are marked.
Hi, I am reassigning this to the wordprocessor component so that the developers in Hamburg can see this. The lingucomponent itself can not control how or when it is invoked so perhaps this is a linguistic spelldsp.cxx issue? Kevin
Reassigned to MRU
I cannot reproduce this. Either, in printing and online Layout, the spelling "on the fly" works good. Andrew, does it happen with a special document or every time you use the spelling?
Happens every time, with every document. The only thing I can think of that might have an effect is that I tend to work witht he Navigator open and docked to one side, so I can see the structure of a notes file. So all I can say is that it doesn't work for me. What else might affect it? Video card? Operating system? I'm running Windows 2000 with a Matrox g400 video card at 1280x1024. My standard font is Platino Linotype. But I really can't see why that should make a difference.
I have the suspicion, that issue #14815 is responsible for your problem. The configuration of the whole linguistic settings are not persistent anymore.
Should be fixed for OO 1.1 RC. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 15362 ***
The OO 1.1 RC build is out now. Could you please check if the bug still occurs on your system with OO 1.1 RC? If so, feel free to reopen this issue. Thanks a lot!
yes. works fine in 1.1 RC1. I'm sorry I didn't check this before. for some reason this dind't show up in the "my issues" query, which I ran through when I first played with rc1.
