Description lamarcbr 2003-05-09 04:05:01 UTC
I find "Accept or Reject Changes" difficult to use.
When accepting or rejecting changes, it is not clear which changes are being
reviewed.

* The text to be changed should be highlighted, but I find often it is not
visible on screen.
* The "Accept or Reject Changes" dialog is too big. It covers too much of the
screen.
* There's no option to skip a change. It either must be accepted or rejected.

Proposed changes:

Eliminate the "Accept or Reject Changes" dialog and replace it with a floating
or dockable pane similar to the Stylist, the Navigator or the Datasource panes.
That would reduce the screen footprint, and also would insure the text to be
reviewed is not behind the "Accept or Reject Changes" pane. Finally, it would
be way cool.

Include skip, forward(next), and backwards(previous) buttons on the "Accept or
Reject Changes."

Include "Accept Change" and "Reject Change" from the context (right click) menu
within the document window.

The filter options on the "Accept or Reject Changes" is a great feature. Please
keep it.

I support and would like to point out that:

1. Currently the list of changes is displayed sorted by the order of changes in
the document, BUT if sorted otherwise by selecting one of the heading, there is
no way to sort it back to the order in the document. There need to be such a
way, either by adding a button, or by adding a column that would enumerate the
changed according to their order in the document and will therefore enable re-
sorting in this order or reverse it.

2. Next (=Skip) and Prev buttons are a must. They need to follow the order
displayed in the list, esp. if the user sorted the list differently than the
initial order. Currently in order to skip (and leave) a change, the mouse must
be used.

The part about accepting / rejecting changes from the context menu is covered in
issue 6191.

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
my owner to the owner "requirements".
