Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 14095
Protected parts of the text can no be deleted using selection
Last modified: 2014-03-20 19:00:37 UTC
I think that if I select some text which CONTAINS ENTIRELY protected field/picture/text/whatsoever it should be possible to delete it (possibly with warning), or at least OO should give any hint why nothing have happened. Currently attempt to do so results into nothing, even not a warning. I think that this is very CONFUSING, because user does not know WHY nothing have happened, and even if the idea if having protected part of the text in the selection pops up to her mind, she should still locate the protected place, unprotect it and than repeat everything for any protected part and then delete the text.
SBA: Reassigned to Bettina from the User Experience team for consideration.

Hi, I can confirm that this issue still exists. I'm not able to cut/paste or delete tables which have protected cells in them. This seems to be a big limitation esp. if someone is using big tables with multiple protected cells. Although this is marked as an Enhancement, i feel it should be given relatively high priority as it is more of an limitation w/ the current table use-model. Thanks, Abhishek.
To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on my owner to the owner "requirements".

No indication when trying to delete a protected picture. Good UI practice: every user action should be answered. AOO410m14(Build:9760) - Rev. 1573601 2014-03-03 17:47:48 (Mo, 03 Mrz 2014) Win 7
