Description issues@www 2001-08-02 14:37:07 UTC
i'm trying to install b633 on a RedHat v6.2 based linux pc. the installation
goes fine up until the point where the installation program reports 'registering
the components'. after a while i get a message saying "The 'liblexps633li.so'
component was unable to be registered". pushing retry twice makes the dialog
go away and the installation program exits. StarOffice doesn't start, however, i
only get the following error message:

Unable to retrieve application configuration data: Cannot locate Configuration:
Invalid user installationAbort

The problem with 'liblexps633li.so' is a known one.
"Unable to retrieve application configuration data: Cannot locate Configuration:
Invalid user installationAbort" was printed if the installation wasn't started
by the user who made the installation.

issue 1217 says it's been fixed in 633. why am i still getting the problem
with 633? i couldn't find a workaround from issue #1217. also, the installation
was done as a regular user and tried to run StarOffice as the same user. i did a
reinstallation just to be sure, but the problem persists.
Comment 3 Olaf Felka 2001-08-02 15:34:21 UTC
If it still occures you should reopen 1217.
Have you started your installation with the parameter -net?
Comment 4 issues@www 2001-08-02 15:37:08 UTC
no, i haven't started setup using the '-net' option.
Comment 5 Olaf Felka 2001-08-02 15:40:49 UTC
Do you have a .sversionrc in you home directory?
Comment 6 Unknown 2001-08-03 11:23:43 UTC
yes, i have a '.sversionrc'. apparently, it was created by StarOffice
v5.2, but i deleted the file and reinstalled OpenOffice 633. during
the install
i got the same error message as before, but starting OpenOffice fails
with a different error message:

        Application ErrorAbort

i could provide you with a strace of the installation process or
StarOffice startup if that would be of any help.

Comment 8 Olaf Felka 2001-08-08 10:43:10 UTC
Can you send me the setup.log of your OOo installation?
Comment 9 Unknown 2001-08-22 21:50:28 UTC
I get the exact same kind of a problem with RH 7.1.

 loading component library failed: liblexps633li.so
On one other occassion (I tried installing it couple times) I got
libcorefl.so (something like that) failed to register.
In the setup.log last few lines look like this

OK register component: liblth633li.so : applicat.rdb
ERR register component: liblexps633li.so : applicat.rdb
ERR UNO exception (liblexps633li.so): loading component library
failed: liblexps633li.so

If I do ls

> ls -l /tools/staroffice/build633/program/liblexps633li.so
-rwxr-xr-x 1 vuksan everyone 172410 Jul 16 17:23
/tools/staroffice/build633/program/liblexps633li.so
Or if I run md5sum I get

> md5sum /tools/staroffice/build633/program/liblexps633li.so
8c4269d2f8ca954311d3c1db7a244b50
/tools/staroffice/build633/program/liblexps633li.so

If you need the whole setup.log let me know and I will attach it.

Hi Marko,
all you are writing here you can find in issue 1217 and 1218.
Please contact Sander Vesik for more information. He is assigned to
these issues

Comment 11 Unknown 2001-08-23 08:39:11 UTC
this issue is marked as a duplicate of #1217 and #1218. in my view,
this is incorrect since reinstallation helped with #1217 and i've
tried
reinstalling several times but still OpenOffice fails to start. with
issue #1218
there were some error messages during installation but the
installation
still worked. neither one of the issues marked as duplicate doesn't
seem to describe this issue, in my opinion.
Comment 12 Olaf Felka 2001-08-24 11:06:36 UTC
We still can't reproduce your problem. Is it the same with OOo638?
Comment 13 Unknown 2001-08-24 11:46:51 UTC
as far as i see, this issue is not related with issue #638.
Comment 14 Olaf Felka 2001-08-24 12:19:07 UTC
I don't mean the issue 638, I mean the new OOo build!
Comment 15 Unknown 2001-08-27 07:49:33 UTC
ok, just tried it with build 638 and the results are similar: at the
end of the installation i get the error message: "The
'liblexps638li.so' component was unable to be registered.". when i try
starting soffice after the failed installation
nothing happens and the soffice command just seems to freeze.
Comment 16 Unknown 2001-08-28 19:51:52 UTC
I have the same problem as Marko if I try to install OpenOffice for
single-user use I get the exact error he gets. If I click Ignore
installation finishes and this is what I get in setup.log

OK register component: liblth638li.so : applicat.rdb
ERR register component: liblexps638li.so : applicat.rdb
ERR UNO exception (liblexps638li.so): loading component library
failed: liblexps638li.so
ERR Configuration - Descendant Element 'Proxy' not found in Node
/org.openoffice.Inet
Errors = 0

The OpenOffice still works. If I try -net installation I get a whole
bunch of libraries not being able to register

OK register component: libsmgr.so : applicat.rdb
OK register component: libtcv.so : applicat.rdb
ERR register component: libstm.so : applicat.rdb
ERR UNO exception (libstm.so):
OK register component: libmcnttype.so : applicat.rdb
OK register component: libinvadp.so : applicat.rdb
ERR register component: libsvl638li.so : applicat.rdb
ERR UNO exception (libsvl638li.so):
OK register component: libucppkg1.so : applicat.rdb
OK register component: libsvx638li.so : applicat.rdb
ERR register component: libtdmgr.so : applicat.rdb
ERR UNO exception (libtdmgr.so):
OK register component: libacceptor.so : applicat.rdb
OK register component: libconnectr.so : applicat.rdb
ERR register component: libsrtrs1.so : applicat.rdb
ERR UNO exception (libsrtrs1.so):
OK register component: libjen.so : applicat.rdb
OK register component: libremotebridge.so : applicat.rdb
OK register component: libdefreg.so : applicat.rdb
OK register component: libdbase638li.so : applicat.rdb
OK register component: libbib638li.so : applicat.rdb
OK register component: liblng638li.so : applicat.rdb
OK register component: libfileacc.so :

After this OpenOffice is unusable. Immediately after starting up it
says Abort and that's it :-(.
Comment 17 Olaf Felka 2001-09-06 10:59:51 UTC
Hi Marko,
a final question: you have installed OOo as user 'A' and started
soffice as the same user? And then you'll get the message? For me this
means that the .sversionrc isn't existing or the entry for OOo is missing.
We cannot imagine (or reproduce) what will happen that the OOo setup
doesn't write this file into your home directory.
Comment 18 udippel 2001-09-13 04:23:56 UTC
Have the same here. Installed 638 on RH 7.194 (Roswell) as root into /usr/lib/Office638 with -net.
liblexps638.li.so could not be registered. New download (T1) brought exactly the same result.
The user can initialise from $, and start the program, but it will crash ("unrecoverable error" or simply disappear) twice per hour.
Comment 19 Unknown 2001-09-17 16:14:22 UTC
i'm installing and starting StarOffice as the same, regular user.
here's my ~/.sversion after the install:

	OpenOffice.org 638=/home/aspa/install/openoffice60

Kevin wrote in issue 1732:
"This is due to libstdc++ naming differences between RedHat
and the Build Linux system. You can use ldd in program/ to
identify the name of libstdc++ desired by the code (and use a
symlink to create it). The good news is that with OO638C, a different spell checker is
used so this problem will no longer happen. This should be closed as fixed under OO638C"

Are you willing to try again?
Comment 22 Unknown 2001-10-09 17:59:48 UTC
i would be willing to try again but unfortunately
i've already upgraded my original installation from RedHat v6.2
to v7.1 so my setup really isn't the same anymore.
