Description egle 2003-04-15 22:36:56 UTC
Saving some .doc documents to RFT causes corruption of some non-latin1 symbols -
scaron, Scaron, zcaron, Zcaron.
If I first save this .doc to .sxw and from .sxw to .rtf these characters are not
corrupted.

This bug also exists in 1.0.2 version.

I can confirm this. We use the appended trivial change to fix that.
Can you confirm that it does work for you too?

Sorry, I don't know how to compile OpenOffice :(
I use debian and if openoffice can be compiled in two steps like
others debian packages:
apt-get build-dep openoffice.org
apt-get -b source openoffice.org

then I can try. I don't have a lot of free space (I hear, that
OpenOffice needs about 5 GB), I have only 2 and can free maximum 4 GB.

Maybe you can compile it and put in some ftp server?
I have one ftp server with incoming directory and can tell URL to you.

Describes the same as issue #12120.

*** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 12120 ***

Closed as duplicate
Comment 8 egle 2003-05-22 22:39:34 UTC
I don't think that this bug is a duplicate of 12120, because bug 12120
exists only on Windows OS and this one exists on Linux and Windows.

Should I reopen this issue ?

To Pavel Janik and OOo developers:

About a month ago I downloaded
OOo_11beta-czech-LinuxIntel_install.tar.gz from
ftp://ftp.linux.cz/pub/linux/people/pavel_janik/OpenOffice.org_1.1Beta/build-2/,
but only now installed and found, that OOo czech version has bug 13486
too :(
It seems, that your patch doesn't help in this case :(

Maybe this patch could help to fix bug 12120 ? I currently don't have
an access to windows mashine, but next week I can ask some friends for
help, but I need some windows builds with this patch included.

I forgot to attach a original .doc file to this issue, now I'm
attaching this file, hope this document helps ? Btw, this bug exists
on OOo1.1 beta2 too :(

Doesn't matter. This problem is platform undependent. It will be fixed
for OO 2.0, like the other issues.
