Description egle 2003-03-07 11:05:48 UTC
When saving .sxw as .rtf some lithuanian symbols are saved incorrectly on
windows version.
But if I first save .sxw as .doc and after I save that doc. as .rtf all
lithuanian symbols are saved correctly on windows version of OOo. This bug
exists on 1.0.1, 1.0.2, 643, 644 windows versions.

On linux version of OOo both saving ways work correctly - all lithuanian symbols
are saved correctly.

Please fix this bug as soos as possible, as many users here in Lithuania use OOo
for Windows and this bug causes lots of problems.

I'm attaching .sxw and .rtf made with windows version.

This bus should be fixed ASAP - rtf export is very important thing and
should export at least basic text without errors.

Why OpenOffice developers don't care about this bug ?
Comment 4 vytis 2003-04-15 15:09:00 UTC
This bug still exist on OpenOffice 1.1. beta

MRU->CMC: I cannot reproduce the problem on my system(s). Do you have
idea, why the other guys the mentioned RTF output (see attachment)?
Comment 8 vytis 2003-05-21 13:23:38 UTC
win 2000 / openoffice 1.1 beta

intructions to reproduce.
1. create RTF file with any editor (eg. WordPad)
2. put letters from Rtf_lt_bug.sxw
3. open created RTF file with OpenOffice
4. make some changes
5. save as RTF
6. open with RTF with any editor

You will see white boxes instead some symbols.

This bug is very easy to reproducible - simply open Rtf_lt_bug.sxw and
do File->Save As and then choose "Rich Text Format (.rtf)" in "Save as
type"

Reproduced with OOo 1.0.1, OOo 644m11 and OOo 1.1 beta2 on Windows 98

Maybe you can't reproduce this bug, because you are using Linux or
Solaris ?

Btw, please fix this bug before 1.1 final - because of this bug people
think, that openoffice isn't for Lithuania (MS Word doesn't have such
problem and produces correct rtf) :(

Maybe reporter can change Target Milestone to OOo 1.1 RC or 1.1 final ?

I can fix this for 2.0, but I don't want to fiddle with this error
prone area before 1.1. Those who want to roll their own can apply the
simple diff of cvs diff -r1.5.208.1 -r1.5.208.2
sw/source/filter/rtf/wrtww8.hxx and see if that clears the problem
like it should.
Comment 13 egle 2003-07-19 14:05:24 UTC
It would be nice to see this bug fixed in 1.1 version - RTF format is
very important for document exchange.

Btw, maybe somewhere I can get compiled windows OOo version with
patch, which fixes this bug ? I don't have a windows C++ compiler :(

Checked RTF export with internal CWS filterteam08.
Comment 17 michael.ruess 2003-08-27 15:45:53 UTC
Fix verified. Will be part of OO 2.0.
Comment 18 michael.ruess 2003-11-27 10:30:46 UTC
Fix good in OO 2.0 snapshot src680m13.
Comment 19 mantas 2005-09-26 11:52:54 UTC
Maybe someone from Lithuania should verify is this bug really fixed in OOo 2.0
beta2 and OOo 1.1.5 ?
