Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 123179
Favicon invisible at AOO Website (Browser dependent)
Last modified: 2013-09-08 17:32:45 UTC
Steps how to reproduce: 1. Open <http://www.openoffice.org/> 2. In different browser tab open <http://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Main_Page> 3. Compare! My results with Seamonkey 2.19 Wiki: as expected AOO icon (blue circle with white seagulls) shown in Browser TAB and URL pane Website: no favicon
@Rainer: I cannot reproduce that the www has no favicon. I can see the same like for wiki.
Created attachment 81454 [details] Compare Browsers I tested with IE10, FF23.0.1, Seamonkey 2.16 AOO Wiki: always Icon visible. AOO Website: IE10: Favicon in Browser Tab and URL pand FF: Favicon missing in URL pane SM: Favicon missing in Browser Tab and in URL pane
Same FF problem (no favicon in URL pane) with FF 20.0 on Ubuntu 11 No problem at all with Epiphany 3.4.1 on Ubuntu 12
This might be (more or less) a settings problem in Browser. With help of <https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125439> I found a solution, see comment 1 there. Modification has to be done in <about:config>, after I did favicons now are shown in Seamonkey (FF not tried). But that does not mean that there is no problem, I think there is an inconsistence between wiki and www.openoffice.org. May be the favicon handling on AOO website follows an obsolete standard?
Website favicon present in: Iceweasel 23.0.1 Opera 12.16 Konqueror 4.8.4
