OD->Richard Holt (17.02.2003):
Thanks for submitted this defect, I will take care of this.
But, can You please more precise in Your defect description:
- How much pages has Your document?
- Which print preview layout has You selected?
- Are You zooming in or out?
- What is the initial zoom factor, before You start zooming?
Thanks in advance for the information.

P.S.: Please assign the issue back to me.

>- How much pages has Your document?

Preview in Calc: 1 page doc zooms in & out w/ menu buttons, but not
with "+" or "-".

Preview in Writer:
with a 1 page doc, zooms in & out w/ menu buttons, also zooms with "+"
but "-" keys doesn't have any effect though the minus button goes back
to 25% not in steps or stages.
The preview is set to the right probably by the widget set. Zoom only
takes place on the right half of the screen but unzooming doesn't seem
to work. I am able to use PgDn/Up to move but not able to scroll. The
Scroll bar does work for recentering but not Left/Right arrows.

with a multi-page doc, zooms in & out w/ menu buttons, also zooms with
"+" but "-" key resets View to 0%, pressing "+" then sets View to 25%.
I can recenter with the Left/Right arrows and scroll bar.

>- Which print preview layout have You selected?

Default view, it comes up with 48%. I changed to 2 page view and it
works somewhat better. Changed to 1 x 1 and it still goes back to 25%
with "-" button.

>- Are You zooming in or out?

Zooming In seems to work mostly, Zooming out doesn't give the expected
result. Though in multi page view it works more as expected.

>- What is the initial zoom factor, before You start zooming?

47 or 48%, depending on whether OOo is in default window or in a
maximized window.

Done.

Thanks,
Richard.

OD->Richard (18.02.2003):
Thanks for Your quick reply.

Preview in Calc: The defect, that no zoom on key input '+'/'-' takes
place is reproducable. I will submit a new issue for that.

Preview in Writer: The current 644 snapshot of the preview in the
Writer shows work in progress - it will be finished with the next
snapshots. Thus, wait for the next snapshots and check again.
I will give You s short description of the changed preview in the writer:
(1) The zoom function (toolbar buttons or keys '+'/'-') will change
the zoom factor between the predefined steps 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%,
150%, 200%, 400%, 600%.
(2) A User-defined zoom factor can be set in the range between 20% and
600% by editing directly the zoom factor.
(3) The zoom will only effect the pages given by the preview layout.
E.g. with a preview layout of 3 columns and 2 rows the zoom will
effect these 6 document pages in the given layout.
(4) The toolbar buttons, named 'previous page' and 'next page' will
scroll through the preview document by preview pages. A preview page
is given by the preview layout. E.g. with a preview layout of 2
columns and 1 row function 'next page' will bring the next two
document pages into view.
(5) The vertical scrollbar will change its behaviour depending on the
current visible part of a preview page. As long as the whole rows
given by the preview layout are visible, the vertical scrollbar
scrolls through the document by pages and brings them into view. If
not the whole rows of the given preview layout are visible, the
vertical scrollbar scrolls through the whole document by absolute
position.
(6) Sizing the window has no effect on the zoom and the given preview
layout.
(7) Zooming has no effect on the given preview layout.

I don't understand the status of this issue, is this resolved now?
Then I'd like to have it closed, because it is on the beta2 target we
track.
