Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 102686
problem with PDF exporting
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:17:53 UTC
Export PDF files is dependent on the global Writer printing settings (global preferences). This indeed is not printing, but saving a file pdf. For example: set in global printing preferences PrintLeftPages to false and export any PDF file. One to two pages are blank.
Cannot reproduce. Please sample documents (odt and pdf)

1. Open attachement (untitled.odt) 2. Uncheck PrintLeftPages in global settings/preferences (settings.png) 3. Export PDF file (untitled.pdf) 4. Open pdf with Adobe Reader 5. Second page is white/empty 6. Export PDF files is dependent on printing settings but this is not printing.

The bugdoc has 9 pages. When I disable print left pages, I would expect 5 pages by pdf export. But I'll get nonetheless 9 pages, where 4 of them are blank.
Whether PDF export should be dependent on printer settings is a matter of debate (see issue 71013). However certainly the print setting should not work this kind of halfway.
due to limited resources I have to re-target this issue to OOo 3.x
