Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 991
loses formatting for optimal width, freeze panes when saving to *.xls
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:15:32 UTC
1 Save *.scx file to *.xls(97/2000) 2 Loses sheet formatting for optimal width, freeze panes removed, 3 Used Print_Area as name/label in macro that Excel said was an internal name. 4 Must Rename variable before Excel would load the sheet. 5 Default Properties/Description of "D:\web\dolar\211dc.htm"
Please provide a bugdoc and be a little more precise for Points 4 and 5.
updated 06jun01 1. Open "bal-interbk.xls" in OOo627win32 2. Sheet formating / freeze panes OK. Date column squeezed, reset with Optimal Column Width. 3. Filename on title bar as "bal-interbk" 4. Name Conflict Dialog box: "Name can not be the same as a built-in name". Old name: Print_Area New Name: ___________ a. Give new name of "PrintArea" i. Sheet opens and sheet loses formatting, freeze panes, et al. b. Give new name of "Print-Area" i. Invalid name c. Give new name of "Printing_Area" i. Sheet opens and sheet loses formatting, freeze panes, et al.
.
Optimal width is not a file attribute, so im-/export is not possible. Freeze is imported wrong and has to be fixed. In this case additional problems with the repaint.

I have tested the "freeze panes" import/export with OOo 1.0.1 and it works fine. I would like to close this as now fixed.
