I have an installation of OOO 3.0.0. I have been sent a ExcelML (2003) file,
which I was able to load once I pointed OOO at my JRE installation ( 1.6.0_12 ).

However, I am unable to save.

When I do, the progress bars shoots along to the right, the disk grinds, then I
get the error message:

OpenOffice.org 3.0
Error saving the document TEST:
Write Error.
The file could not be written.

I have full R/W access to this file, and I can happily open it in notepad, add
some whitespace, then save it without any trouble.

I fired up SysInternal's filemon to monitor disk access to see if it was missing
something, and here's the relevant section of the log:

There's nothing like that in my OOO directories.

An old 2.4 installation has all sorts of java things in the programs directory
though (under "classes", including the xml filter classes (xalan, etc), which I
can't find anywhere in my 3.0 installation).

I tried the Tools->XML Filter Settings->Test XSLTs... with the same document (as
MS Excel 2003 XML), and it just hung for a minute or two. No output window, nothing.

Finally, I went back to the installer, did a full install (just in case
something marked as optional wasn't), but still the same.

So in summary, I can open ExcelML files fine, but cant save. From a clean
environment, I installed OOO 3.0 then ran it, then installed jre 1.6.0_11 and
tried again.
