Description Unknown 2002-12-06 05:20:36 UTC
soffice works as normal user if I am using the local X session on the computer.
When I use WinaXe Plus v7 on Windows platform and connect to the Linux PC, the
soffice begins to launch and dies shortly after presenting the window if I run
as a regular user.
Strangely it works OK on the remote X if I am root when I launch it.

As regular user privilege it starts, splash screen, a prompt to register, I say
I am already registered then i get a dialog saying
An unrecoverable error has occured. All modified files can probably be
recovered at program restart <OK>.
Then it dies.

I dont know enought to edit the startup script effectively but I can
read some of it. I did an export of the environment and collected
this which shows the remote display. I also note that when I run
GEDIT as root I get an odd message but the app still works. The
message from GEDIT is

GnomeUI-WARNING **: While connecting to session manager:
Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols
specified are supported and host-based authentication failed.

I hope this doesnt kill the issue but it works OK as regular user when
using KDE.
Fails under GNOME. OS version is Red Hat 7.3, I think.
Comment 3 dankegel 2003-07-26 19:07:28 UTC
Can you still repeat this with OpenOffice1.1rc2 or later?
If so, let's get a crash log, I'll bet we can track this down.
Comment 4 thorsten.martens 2003-09-16 10:17:17 UTC
Please check if behaviour is still reproducible with a more recent
build like RC4.
Comment 5 utomo99 2003-10-14 10:47:02 UTC
Please try using the latest OpenOffice 1.1 Final , you can download it
from www.openoffice.org
many bug fixes and enhancements since your version and 1.1 Final . If
the problem still happend in 1.1 please report back
It maybe not yet solve your Issue, but it worth to try.
