Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 9850
Bullet characters do not print
Last modified: 2003-09-08 16:56:16 UTC
When using a document created under a ms word 97 template and then imported to open office the bullet characters do not print. I have tried changing the bullet character manually as well as the paragraph style and the result is the same. Printers: Canon iR2200-3300 PS3 Canon iR2200- 3300 PCL5e HP LaserJet 4050 N PCL 6 HP LaserJet 4050 N PS
Reassigned to MRU
In OOo 1.0.2, I opened a .doc file that contained bullets and was created in MSOffice for Win95. Indeed the bullets did not print. The font is Book Antiqua. The bullets printed like squares (like an unrecognized character). The printer is an HP laserjet 3200se. Change priority from P2 to P3. Set oooqa keyword and confirmed issue.
I cannot reproduce the problem rught from the scratch. Could you please attach such an offending document (or better: the offending part of it) to this issue (and re-open issue) (or send it directly to mru@openoffice.org for the case it contains confidential data. Thank you very much!
Created attachment 4633 [details] .doc file to show OOo does not print bullets

Printout looks good on Windows XP. Seems to be a problem with the Win98 printer driver.
My screen view shows no bullets in win98 either. I can see the bullets if I open word and look at it thru that.
Ah, the bullets are not even displayed on the screen. This is a known issue with OpenOffice on Win98. Have a look at issue #9917, there the problem is also described. Thus I close this one as duplicate. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 9917 ***
Closed this issue after reviewing it on Win98. Issue is duplicate to #9917.
