Description Frank Schönheit 2008-11-21 14:19:57 UTC
- open the attached database document
- open the contained report for editing
- (if necessary) Edit / Select Report
=> the report's properties are displayed in the property browser
- with the mouse, open the "Content" drop down list, and select the "names"
  table by clicking onto it
=> the table name is filled into the combo box, but nothing else happens
=> focus another field in the property browser
=> the "Add Field" window opens

Actually, this "Content" property is only one of multiple examples for this
usability issue: When you select an entry from a combo box drop down, by
clicking onto it, this property is not actually changed. Only when you leave the
control, or press enter, the change is really committed.

The expected behavior of course is that the property is changed immediately when
you click onto the list entry.

See issue 99666 why the original bug description from above cannot be verified
anymore (SRB automatically fills in the "names" table name, and opens the Add
Field window, when just opening the report.) So, here's another way to show the
different behavior:

- via Tools / Options / OpenOffice.org Base / Database, register a database document
which connects to a database requiring authentication
- open a new text document
- insert an arbitrary form control
- open the "Form..." property browser from its context menu
- on the "Data" tab page, open the drop down list for the "Data source" property,
and select the database you just registered

In OOo up to 3.1, you will be prompted with a authentication dialog as soon as
you leave the input field for the "Data source" property.
In CWS dba32a, you will be prompted with the authentication dialog as soon as
you clicked the database entry in the drop down list.
