Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 96255
Strange window numbers in title bar
Last modified: 2013-01-29 21:52:56 UTC
Open a (new or existing) spreadsheet, text, ... Click on "preview" button. After file name, in title bar, ":2" has appeared - say "untitled1 :2 - OpenOffice.org Writer" Sometimes appear after closing preview. The number in- ou decrease after each preview. Screenshot attached.

I checked with "Ooo 3.0.0 RC3 Multilingual version German UI WIN XP: [OOO300m8 (Build9357)]" and can confirm the reported effect. Normally that number should show what document - window you have on screen. If you create a new document and use menu 'Window -> New Window' a new window will open and the name in this window is shown as you see in "Image1.png" But that window number is completely unnecessary in a print preview (no other window open), and that "count up" function is also strange.

I would like to dig this bug up as I am wondering about its status. I have noticed that the number keeps increasing for the any document during an editing session. All you need is to enter and leave preview. The number gets incremented each time. I see no point in having the number of times I have previewed the document displayed to me. It's a very minor annoyance but I had to perform a Google search that led me to this bug report before understanding that it's not a revision number but it's just a sequential window number. IMHO, no user needs to know that.
